WWWTFW

The boys and I were having a friendship fued. I think Croc and Kyle thought I was kidding, but Adam knows me better than that.

To summarize: We used to hang out twice a week, then we took turns being too busy/out of town/other activities, then they started doing things and not inviting me. Basically: my feelings got hurt.

I talked it out with Adam and we are back to BNFL status (best neighbors fo lyfe). So I figured I'd try to schedule some WW time with CK to get us back on track as well. I committed to the plans before they told me that they were going to see The Avengers at 7:15. That's def when I should have pulled my parachute cord...but since I had been giving them a hard time about not hanging out I didn't want to ditch. (Note to future Jes: efff that!). I know I'm probably super lame, but I only want to stay out until 11:30p because I'm always so tired after WWW. Anyway, I invited April and I'm so glad I roped her in but I'm also sorry that she had to suffer the late night.

April and I arrive a little after 10. And guess what? CK are running late. How late? So late that I probably had time to find a Time Turner to go back to that morning and tell myself not to go. They finally show up at 10:40.

Yes. I was less than pleased and it was written all over my face. We danced a few times and at 11:30 April and I said our good byes...when I really wanted to give them the peace flip.

Hopefully we can pull out of this friendship rut and return to what is now referred to as "the glory days when we all got along." haha. But seriously, I just miss hanging out so hopefully we can work a little bit of that back into our lives.

Epic Return Of Wild West Wednesdays

errrr....it was supposed to be.

We had missed two weeks in a row because 1. We had the OTH series finale, and that def took priority over WWW. 2. My body was a little injured from Pole on Tuesday so I had to tap out.

I was so excited to finally be going back!

After BP I skipped out on my cardio/chat sesh time because I didn't want the boys to have to wait on me. WELLLLLLLL, what they forgot to mention was the whole we're going to be at Kyle's brewing beer before we go out situation. I got ready at super speed and decided to start The Vampire Diaries while I waited for the call...I got through the whole ep, noticed it was 9p and thought Adam ditched me. Nope. Just brewing beer because apparently now we don't go until 9:30? This was new to me. I was ready to call it a night, but didn't want to be a flake.

We finally headed over around 10. I was not a happy camper. I don't think the guys have ever been around me when I'm irritated, and def not when I'm irritated with them as this was the first time...but def not the last (foreshadow much?). So this was fun for everyone! haha. I just get really snarky with my jabs, it's actually quite funny...but maybe just for me and the people that aren't the target.

So it was Adam, April, and I. Third wheel. great. Ok.Ok. Actually it wasn't that bad. I'm pretty used to being the third wheel and April is pretty cool. Adam def set that one up for success when he started talking about how they saw Hunger Games. I tried not to geek out to hard on that and twilight, but I think I felt my eyes starting to get bigger as I talked. Adam is such a sweetheart, he took turns dancing with April and me. I would also like to thank April for sharing her boyfriend with me since I have failure to provide my own. And we were on the same page about the boys incompetence.
Adam and April
Croc finalllllllllllyyyyyyyyy (I hope you can feel the irritation with every letter typed in that word) showed up closer to 11. I almost ordered a beer just so I would have a bottle to break and shank him with. Oh, and where's Kyle? That's a good effing question! That fool backed out last min.Good thing I love surprise double dates! haha. All was forgiven (mostly) once Croc took me out on the dance floor.

See? so in love. (Maybe this is why I stopped getting invited to hang out?)

If you over look me cutting my workout short, going so late = coming home late, and Croc's inability to work with a schedule, it was a pretty good time.

Neighbors fo lyfe (or until one of us moves...whatevs).

We Have All The Tables

It was lunch club day but I was still stuck in a funk and just wanted to stay home and watch Vampire Diaries (which I totes did).

A few hours later, and many texts from the girls, I decided to meet up.

We got a table at Roak...there for a bit we actually had all of them. I don't think people started showing up until at least midnight.

Whatevs. We love private parties and hanging with each other anyway!

We may have gotten in trouble for having ice wars at our table. It's not like ice was being thrown in the crowd or anything. lame.

Thanks for the pictures Bennida!
Sometimes I'm in love with Taffs.
Please notice the empty bar. haha.
And sometimes we are in love with the dance floor!

I love dance parties with Taffy! She def knew the trick to get me to come out.

The Life And Death Of Wild West Thursday

Our first Wild West Thursday was a hit for most of us. Some crocadille tears may have been shed by someone because it was pretty empty. Yeah it was sad not to people watch, but I'm not there find a man, so I loved having more room to dance! Apparently the guys think they need to meet ladies because B & I aren't providing the kind of companionship they are looking for. Whatever. I figure we are just grooming them for when they find a special lady. You know, keeping them socialized.
Mandy, Me, B
After work I went to the park to get in some miles in my new insoles…that I hate. Thanks to the structure of my ankle bones I over pronate so the longer miles give me trouble and I'm always up to try something new (insoles, shoes) to remedy this. So I got fitted at the Woodlands race expo and finally got them in the mail. First off, they were wayyyy over correcting me so I was under pronating. I already roll my ankle enough as it is, so that was just a disaster waiting to happen. I took off a piece of them so they would sit better. They still felt like they were pushing a little bit too much and made my shoes feel too full. Whatever. I took them for a run and I just don't know how I feel about them. Like all new things, they gave me a nice sizable blister on my arch.

Anyway, I went home, bathed, and iced my shins while watching The Vampire Diaries (OMG. So Good. Glad you got a haircut Damon.). I pep talked myself into getting off the couch and meeting everyone at WW. Even though I was super tired the next day it was totes worth it.

Jonathan & Mandy (P.S. Thanks for the pictures B!)
Mandy & Jonathan even came out! Yay! Jonathan taught me the waltz, and like most things, I owned it. Since there weren't as many people we didn't have to bob and weave on the dance floor. Croc had some of his friends meet up and I'm pretty sure we should have been paid a babysitting fee. Croc was drinking it up so he was spinning in circles more than usual when we danced. The usual is pretty intense, but this was like riding on the Himalaya (Wonderland throwback). When we stopped I felt like maybe I had been drinking and didn't realize. But I don't mind, as long as he doesn't mind when I stumble around and trip when he spins and dips me. BTW, totally mastered whatever dip he does with me...now if I could just make it look more graceful.
Croc, Me, B, Adam
I am all about WWTR fo lyfe, but I am def getting some push back from some of the boys. I don't think they understand how this friendship thing works. We vote on things, majority rules (and I'm always the majority), then you fall in line. It's not that hard!

Kidding, only kind of. I motioned that we compromise by switching of Wednesday and Thursdays. Whatevs.

Our Last WWW

(The following events took place on March 14..my posts are just really delayed...because I'm lazy)

Because we are moving it to Thurdays!

This Wednesday B and I had plans to watch a vie (very important episode) of OTH. Well, that changed once I showed up to the gym and I was invited to dinner with S+J and Marc. I tried to say no since I had plans with B, but I obviously couldn't resist. I was a little nervous breaking the news to my little krumpet, but once I told her Marc was in attendence, she was alright with it.

Wednesday's are always great, but this was above and beyond because S+J and Marc joined us at Wild West!
  • "BTDubs, you were awesome last night on the dance floor. Not that you aren't always fun to dance with Jes, but it was awesome nailing the pretzel with you, especially with how crowded it was. " - Adam (Yes, I just direct quoted you from an email.)
  • That awkward moment when you are dancing to Foot Loose and the whole dance floor turns it into a line dance...that you don't know...so they keep bumping into you as you dance like a fool.
  • Eatting J+S's wedding cake...a week and a half after it was thawed out. Still tastes good, but probably not a good idea.
  • Steven and Marc made dinner. Steak and asparagus. My fave. I wonder if they knew that? Anyway, it was super delish, except I'm pretty sure parts of my steak were pulsing...
  • Did you seriously just say you read the book 'Sperm Wars'
  • Pump filled up before I got there. BUT the membership manager said from now on he'd save me a spot because he knows I'm always there. Please and Thank You!!
  • Speed guy didn't change his shirt once. Weird. Usually he has at least three wardrobe changes.
  • Croc and I lost contact during a spin. His facial expression was like he lost my hand and I plummited to me death off a clif. Mine was probably similar. Luckily I'm good at the recovery because I mess up a lot so it didn't look too crazy.
  • Great Improvising - is what Adam calls it when I don't let him lead and do spins he's not spinning.
  • Jes didn't 'spring forward' her car clock so I thought I wasn't doing too bad leaving at 12:30...I got tricked.

This was a great Wednsday to kick off the weekend with (errr....maybe a little early, whatevs).

Farewell WWW. You have been a lot of fun but you have left me tired for two days too many. I can't wait to start up WWTR...def not as much fun to say. OR WWWWTR (water wasted wild west Thursdays). Doesn't have the same ring to it.

Bug The Efff Out Bag

Sunday was such a busy day! I had my morning run...in the pouring rain. Then I skated my heart out and beat some kids at the skating races. THEN we still had Sunday dinner.

On my way home (thanks for the ride Jes!) Kyle texted to taunt me with his gs cookies...what a peach. A bruised and sour peach that is. (kidding! Thanks for the cookies Kyle!)

When I got there the boys hadn't even lit the grill! B was such a Honey B and bought us the 100th Birthday special edition Oreo's. They were good, but I prefer the regular double stuffed.

I went to the grill with my peeps and make shift roaster in hand while B headed to the treadmill. I was on a skating/endorphin high, and it was a little overwhelming for Croc. I didn't realize I couldn't roast my little bunny over the flame because apparently it's burning off chemicals or something, which is bad for you? What if I like the risk? Whatever. So I tried to roast him over the heat of the coals...yeah, that didn't work out. Great idea Croc. This is why you aren't in charge of peeps roasting. So then I told them about my skating war stores while dancing around and stretching. I had done a number on my legs with the running and skate fest.
I'm sad I didn't get to roast you :(
Croc even let me manage his play list! And by manage, I really mean I grabbed his phone and started skipping through his crap songs until I found (luckily) some that weren't so bad. I may have asked him if he made a play list of crap songs on purpose.
Kyle, Croc (reading his history gift), Adam
Then he invited us to do the Poker run in Innis (the closes Braum's to Houston...I love you Braum's!) and said, "Of course you can stay at my family's house! They would totes magotes love that!" Direct quote, I swear. Ok, Ok, I may have paraphrased it a little bit. I told him that was funny because last week I had mentioned something about meeting his mom and he said "yeah...probably not." We must have had a friendship growth spurt!

Of course we ended the night with some dancing!

Other notables:
  • "Jessica, sit down."
  • Carlyle telling me that the first part of the flip is an uncomfortable position to be in, to which B responds "She seems alright with it, I think you are the one that's uncomfortable."
  • Adam - Ladies, I understand why you would keep trying to wrap your legs around me, but you aren't supposed to do that. Croc - She doesn't do that to me. Wait, should I be offended by that?
  • "Stop eating my food!" Thanks for the bite...and the water I was drinking form your cup earlier. You're welcome Kyle.
  • We gave Croc the present B made (I just supervised). I hope he puts the history book to good use!
  • I'm trying to secure my spot on Croc's survival team so I let him borrow my Zombie Survival Guide.
  • He showed us the contents of his Bug Out Bag and I made a few references as to how that stuff would have been useful in The Hunger Games. I think he agreed, but I have a feeling he doesn't really know what THG is.
  • Found out Adam used to have a lip ring and mohawk. Thank goodness that was bf (before friendship).
  • B sneaking the history book into Croc's BugOut Bag.

  • Croc showing us all of the items in said bag.
  • He's going to do some BugOut bag survival challenge. I asked him if it was like The Hunger Games and the winner is the last one alive...he thinks I'm cray.
  • "I think you licked my arm."
  • After a great round of spins, getting a butt slap and kick off the make shift dance floor. So unexpected but funny; I couldn't stop laughing.
  • Being told I would never get dropped. Next flip? lost grip of one of my hands. To his credit, he didn't drop me, but I almost had a heart attack.
  • The boys were jealous of Crocks ever growing list of nick names, so we gave them some: Eve & Kylekins. They weren't impressed.
  • Croc said he didn't want to seem creepy and ask for our # so I took his phone and did the swap for him. Then I inform him that not only did he text me (xoxo), he also called. His response, "I didn't know I was so into you."

Bend Over And Take Off Your Top

I must be getting better with letting the boys lead (except that one time when Kyle almost knocked into a couple while we were spinning so I took over for a sec...you're welcome) because they are spinning me a lot more and occasionally try a new move...although unsuccessfully.
  • Kyle hit up happy hour so he was way more jazzed than the reg. So funny!
  • My upper body was a lot sore from my most recent hobby, so I was worried about moving my arms. Luckily I worked it out.
  • Kyle points to the dance floor and tells me he wants to show me something. That made me nervous, but I went out there anyway. We start spinning and when he spins me in, he tells me to bend over. I looked at him like "say wha?" I'm really scared that he's about to try the crazy flip move that we had been watching someone else do earlier, and I'm just not ready for that yet, so I refuse. I told him that if he'll just tell me what's going to happen then I'll do it, but he refuses, spins me in again, and tells me to bend over. Again, I'm not having it. He gives me this explanation: I'm going to take your shirt off. Again, "Say wha?" He finally gives me full details, so we do the move and it wasn't so bad...since I got to keep my clothes and my dignity.
  • "Can you refrain from calling me Carlilly on facebook." Ok, but I'll just put it all over the blog! Carlilly, Carlilly, CARLILLY!!! Alright, I'm done.
  • The DTF twins were back again. At least she was wearing shorts instead of what I swear was just sequined underware. Best part? As they were "breaking it down" this guy goes up to them dancing like a fool and basically scares them off the floor. He was so funny! He did that every time they played non-country music and even started a dance off.
  • About the Non-Country music? Stop it! Or at least let us suggest songs because your choices? Suck!
  • I asked Adam if my dancing and spins had improved. His response? "You were always a good dancer." Thank you, but you are lying.
  • Kyle attempted a new dip at the end of a song. That didn't happen. 1. I'm still working on not fighting Adam when he dips me. 2. I'm not good at following brand new moves. So he showed me twice so I would be prepared for next time.
  • Next time came too soon! Croc tried it on me. Again, massive failure. I basically need dance rehearsal for a few hours before adding anything new in, or it's going to get cray.
  • Me: Croc asked to dance to 'Forever and Ever, Amen.' I think he's trying to tell me something.
    • B: Totes. That must be Croc's version of Engagement Chicken...so are you hungry?
    • If you're reading this Croc, we are totally kidding. So don't panic.
  • Don't be so surprised when I am actually singing along to the country songs and know who Randy Travis is...I'm not that far out of the country loop...I'm just not in the inner circle.

Is This Russian For Engagement Chicken?

If so? Then I DO!

Marina invited the girls to come out to the country for some crawfish and country dancin Saturday night. I had the rodeo run that morning, was pretty beat, and don't like crawfish, so I come out later for the dancing. I put my best country outfit on and made the 45min drive out to Baytown/Crosby/I have no idea, but it was country. Everyone else kinda bailed on the plans, so it was me, Marina, her hubs, and BFF. Luckily they are all pretty cool, so it was a good time.

I know, what a creepy myspace pic. Deal with it!

We met at Stevie's house and took back roads to Rowdy Bucks - the most country bar I have ever been to. It was almost like something out of Sweet Home Alabama. There isn't anything wrong with being country, but I'm not country. I am from Canyon, TX, a small town in the panhandle, but I wasn't raised country. I don't hunt, fish, shoot guns, have too much of an accent, and am just now getting reaquanted with country dancin. (Yes, I do the Texan thing where I end my words with 'in' instead of 'ing,' whatever), I'm not that familiar with Texas Country music, and I don't live on a ranch/farm. Anyway, I did feel a little out of place, but it was still a great night! One thing, I forgot that once you leave the city you can smoke inside bars, so my eyes were on fire and I basically smelt like an ashtray when I left. Delicious.

BUT at the end of the night one girl told me I was the cuttest thing she had ever seen and that I was a pretty good dancer (no she wasn't coming on to me, she was with a boy). BOOM! I have mastered the basic country dance and art of apearing country!

Get in my belly!
I stayed the night with Marina because I would probably fall asleep at the wheel making the drive back at 2am. I woke up about 7a the next day and took myself to breakfast on my way home.
Sunday Night Dinner notable moments:
  • I don't remember what we were talking about, but Kyle called it a dinner date. I said something about how it's funny you should call it that because the boys don't know, but last week was actually a double date, and we thought it was the same thing this week, but then y'all showed up, so I figure we'd just go with it! Everyone's face (except for neighbor Adam's) was like WTF?
  • Croc was pointing out our BJ on the wall to the two that hadn't been over before. And you could tell that they didn't really know what to think of it. So I told them that this was BJ house, but we don't give BJs away as initiation the first time you visit or anything.
  • OMG, did you just propose. I didn't even make the engagement chicken tonight because I was saving it for someone else.
  • I made these for work. Seriously delicious!

The Ultimate Goal Is A Back Flip Off The Pole

Whaaaa????

Adam, you be talking loco, but I like it!

When I got home from the gym B and Adam were having dance practice in our living room! I can't believe I forgot that he was coming over for this.

He taught me the pretzel and we worked on the flip.Oh, the flip.

*flashback time*

My Jr. year in high school is the first time I encountered the flip. Seth was my partner for the guy/girl pep rally, and apparently had no strength whatsoever (sorry Seth, but it must be true if you can't life a 120lb girl)! He dropped me mid flip so many times that I'm surprised I'm not seriously more damaged. I was traumatized for life! The next year I asked Lance to be my partner. He was basically everything that a partner should be: super cute and strong. He flipped me and threw me in the air with little to no effort. It was the best.time.ever! It was so nice to finally have a sturdy guy to flip me without dropping me on my head!

I don't have pictures of the flip, so these'll have to do.
Me & Lance. Best Partner Ever.
Partners in the back: Mikal, Robert, Matt, Lance, Travis, Jason, Luka, & Hubbel
Sr. cheer girls in the front. Role Call: Shanna, Lindsay, Me, Ashlee, Kara.
Well, it's been almost 8 years since then, so now I'm super nervous to do that kinds of stuff. When I was first talking to Adam about the flip I had to make sure he was aware that I weight probably 30-40 lbs more than B, so it was going to be an adjustment. I really figure that I could have told him I weighed 300lbs and he would have been like, yeah, sure, no problem...as he flips me onto my head. But I decided to trust Adam, and he actually flipped me with no problem...other than my body not wanting to act right. On the last flip we did, my body tried to spin out of it and I almost kicked him in the head. I honestly don't even know how that happened. But I told Adam that I'm more than willing to learn whatever he requires as long as he'll work with me on it and keep taking us to WW.
I told Adam I wasn't ready to level up, so we stuck with the pretzel. B couldn't help but laugh at me. She said my expressions were funny and that I looked like a ballerina since I was on my toes. My facials go through a few stages: concentration, joy (when I'm getting it right), then so much happiness that I start laughin (and messing up).

We were looking up video's for some more moves when we came across this:

And I fell in love! I told Adam that this was the new goal...along with the back flip, I suppose.

Champagne Showers And Leveling Up At Wild West

I was super psyched for our return to Wild West after a month hiatus.

After BodyPump I stopped by Best Buy (I already lost my shuffle charger and needed a replacement) so I was getting home about 15min before we were supposed to leave. I obviously needed to get cleaned up, so I grabbed my bag and lunch box and sprinted from my car to the apt. Yeah, bad idea since it had been raining all day. I slipped in the hall and it happened so fast I didn't have a chance to attempt to catch myself. I slammed hard into the ground and the outside of a rando apartment. I probably laid there for a good 10sec before moving.

When I made it into the apt and B noticed I was a little rattled she said she heard a loud sound outside. Yep, that was totally me. Even the Pyrex bowl in my lunch bag shattered. I thought that stuff wasn't supposed to break, but this is probably the 3rd thing I've shattered. Anyway, my knee has a nasty scrape that reminds me of my childhood, my right hip and thigh is internally bruised, and I kinda jacked up my right shoulder too (I landed on it but at least my arm protected my head). Oh, and my back that's already kinda jacked up from the skating and NY trip is just a mess. Yeah, really wishing my insurance had kicked in because I really need to get to a chiropractor!

Anyway, we finally made it to WW for what is usually ladies night, but we got charged. I guess they've heard the rumors and realized we aren't ladies after all! haha.
  • Jessica was playing wipe out in the hall.
  • Water wasted
  • Should have brought my butter knife to slice that tension.
  • Stranger danger!
  • But maybe stranger no more
  • "oh, I didn't teach you that."
  • Let me get this straight, you don't like beer, grilled cheese, The Band Perry, and you don't own boots? Are you a terrorist?
  • Jarafi breaking it down.
  • Are we going to get paid for babysitting?
  • Adam spun me more than usual. I guess I did a good job last time so I leveled up! Next level? Flips and shiz!
  • I probably shouldn't call her by a nickname since I haven't even met her yet? Right.
I had a great time, as aways even though I was really off my dancing game and couldn't follow to save my life...thanks for dancing with me anyway boys!
