- Get it tight, get it right. I'm back in the routine of strength training (in addition to the cardio that I'm getting from my RPM and BodyJam classes) and can tell I'm getting my strength back! I can finally invert again! It's not pretty yet, but I can do it! Slowly I'm getting my nutrition back on track and not eating like I'm 5. Turns out the rumors are true that you can't eat cookies for dinner when you get older because your body doesn't let that shit slide anymore!
- Run. I've done a few fun miles here and there, but nothing too steady yet. But a few of my days are about to open up, so I plan on getting some more of that in here!
- Bitches in Kitchens: I have cooked at least once every week this year. Success! I baked once or twice...I can't really remember. I'll add more of that back into the mix this quarter.
- Pole. Since I was becoming nothing but frustrated, I decided to take it back to basics. I re-graduated level 1 last month, and am now working towards level 2 graduation once again. I'm feeling much better about this whole sitch, and getting my invert back is def helping!
- Parkour. The only time I'm free to Parkour is Friday....but I've commitments every Friday this year (pole, friends bday celebrations, wedding related events, etc) so I haven't made it to Parkour once! BUT my Saturdays are about to have some freedom, so Amanda and I will probably hit up that class soon.
- Dating. Still not worrying about it and focusing on everything else going on in my life.

Goals: Q1 Review
1.02.2015
TWENTY FIFTEEN

Last year I didn't really know what I wanted to do with the year, so I didn't even bother with a goal post. The only goal I had started to tinker with was getting RPM certified, but was still undecided. Not only did I accomplish that, I overachieved and got certified in BodyJam also! I'm going to go ahead and give myself an A+ on accomplishing 2014 goals. The grading system might be biased, but who is going to stop me?
So onto goals for 2015:
- Get It Tight, Get It Right: since I've become a bit of a marshmallow I'm going to get back to my serious workout life and stop eating whatever the fck I want. Simple as that.
- Run: basically just run. I took off all of last year after I was physically and mentally damaged from the San Fran hills, but I'm ready to get back to it. And probably run a race because I used to have so much fun doing that stuff with Kari.
- Bitches in Kitchens: I've kind of fallen off with baking and cooking. The plan is to cook at least once a week, and bake once a month. Easy does it.
- Pole: Words can't even express how well this isn't going. I've lost my invert and my semi smooth dancing skills (I blame rave life, house tap doesn't translate to the pole). So obvi I'll be going to my regular weekly class, but will also be dimming the lights and putting in some practice at home.
- Parkour: basically I want to be on this level by the end of the year: Or at least not be separated into the parkour babies group. It's one of the more challenging and frustrating things I've done, but I also kind of love it.
- Dating: I'm going to continue not really worrying about this, and just continue living my life. Done.
- Just continue being open to new activities and experiences.

2013 Q2 Check Up
Alright, so we are at the beginning of the 2nd quarter of 2013. Figured this is a good time to check in on the whole beginning of the year goals sitch to see how it's going and check for any additions.
1. Listening to your body - I've been doing a great job at this! I have taken off many weeks (I'd rather not think of how many) from running since my knee has been hurting from that activity. I've also been foam rolling in an attempt to help it. My glute isn't at 100% yet, but it doesn't hurt during activity. I typically make sure to roll it out with a tennis ball before/after lower body workouts, or when it feels tight.
2. I have gotten more aggressive with my lower body weight, and am now working on trying to get the upper body stronger too.
3-5. Running - I'd rather not discuss. The knee is still a work in progress, so these goals (especially the distance one) will need to be adjusted once I am able to get in more than one mile without pain.
6. Domestication - I've been cooking the majority of my meals. #winning. So my nutrition is getting back on track, and I rarely skip dinner (this used to be a problem from a mix of being lazy and too tired).
7. I actually forgot about this...we haven't practiced this yet.
8. It has been hard getting back up to speed after having to take 2-3 months off (the studio got bought out and fixed up, its really nice now!). BUT I am finally able to invert the "right" way. It's not perfect, but it's getting there.
9. We'll see how class keeps going...competition is at the end of the year. I think the studio will also have a few showcases, so I might eventually man up and see about doing one of those.

TWENTY THIRTEEN
It's time to assess last year and make goals for 2013.
I accomplished most of my goals last year: baking more, running, my apartment is pretty tidy. I didn't fall in love, but I fell in like a couple of times...good to know my heart isn't stone after all. My cooking frequency continued to go downhill...oops. And I didn't turn Jess into a runner, so I'm going to sub in Brittany since she did her first 5k with me. I'm going to try and get her on board for a few more this year. She's going to love it!
SO this year I've decided to become all around more awesome. Can it get any better than this? I don't know, but let's find out.

- Last year was plagued with a freak show of injuries, so this year I plan on continuing to listen to my body when it's over worked and let it have a break instead of calling it a baby ass.
- As long as that goes well, then I plan on getting more aggressive with the amount of weight I'm lifting. It's going to be easy to push my lower body, so I'm going to be giving my upper body some tough love.
- Running - I'm going to stick with 6 races.
- Also to get a sub 2 hour half. I'm typically on pace for the first 6 miles...but after that I tend to check out.
- Run 1000 miles.
- Domesticate myself. I used to be all about that shiz, but these last two years I've slowly stopped cooking. I can't even remember the last time that I made a real meal, so I need to get back to the kitchen for more than just baking.
- Dirty Dancing lift with Jess. This is one of those things that sounded like a good idea as I said it, but may not have been so smart. Whatever, challenge accepted. So what happened is: we were watching Dirty Dancing and I asked S if he thought Marc could dance like that, lift included. He said no. I asked if it was because I was fat. He said no, it's just hard and he probably couldn't even lift Jess like that (his wife, in case you think I'm talking in third person). So I said that I could. And the bet was made.
- Pole Dancing - I'm not sure what all I'm going to be learning this year, or how well (or not well) I will be at it...so I just plan on continuing to expand my skill set and getting my split back.
- Compete in pole. This one is extremely tentative because I have severe stage fright. But after going to Melee On The Bayou and watching the girls compete, it got me kind of excited. I'm really bad about getting these crazy ideas and committing before thinking it all the way through, so we'll see how I feel when the competition comes around. (I've almost committed to training for a sprint triathlon every time Steve suggests it...but I've managed to hold off).
Anyone else have any goals for the year?

TWENTY TWELVE
It's a new year so that means it's time for some goals, to-do lists, things you want to happen, or whatever you want to call them.
Here's my list:
- Run at least 6 races - no matter what distance. I ran a few races last year and it reminded me how much I love crossing the finish line. Even though I'm not the winner, it still makes me feel accomplished.
- Cook more often. I love both of these things already, but I have noticed that when my life is in a dissaray I just don't enjoy it. So, as you can imagine, there hasn't been much kitchen action these last few months. I've already turned it around by cooking twice last weekend. Yay for improvement!
- Bake more often. Same thing as the cooking-I used to send treats to work with Honey B frequently, but it really dropped off again the last months of 2011. Well, since I'm not working in the same office, I figure I had better step up my game, also I think the coworkers are expecting it. And honestly, I love when I make stuff and the people that eat it love it too.
- Keep my room clean. I have never been overly tidy in this department, but since becoming a single girl it's like all of my domesticness went out the window.
- Turn Jes into a runner. I know I sound a little cray making a resolution about someone else. Deal with it. It's just that I like to run, and we have a similar workout schedule, so it would be nice if I had a running partner. I think she's almost on board and we start the running next week!
- Go harder with my workouts. I already workout often; Jes and I can be found at QLF most days of the week. But I feel that we can both push ourselves harder in BodyPump. It's challenging as it is, but I know we could do more! Yes, she's actually in on this one too.
- Be happy. Simple as that.
- Fall in love. Obviously this isn't something I can control...so maybe I mean don't be afraid to let it happen if it happens.
- and finally:
