RIP Jer Bear aka TVD Obsession Continues

source

Wow. Just wow.

Most of the season has been pretty sub par...and then they give you this: the death of a major character.

One thing that TVD does really well is death of important characters. Alaric last season was intense. And that candle scene? I get emotional just thinking about it.

I remember the first time Jer died. (yes, 1st. This is a supernatural show). Out of no where Damon threw a hissy fit because Elena didn't love him and he snapped Jer's neck. I was in shock. Like screamed then burst into tears. Then we got a big twist: the resurrection ring. He came back a few min later. And then that one time that he was shot and Bonnie brought him back. And that other time (gosh, I didn't even remember all of these at first) he sacrificed himself in order to capture Klaus, but bonnie was able to bring him back (and accidentally tap into black magic...awkward).

I was hoping that the ring would help...except he is now a supernatural creature (he's one of the 5 Hunters) so it's invalid. Or maybe Bonnie could do something...except she's kind of lost her mind.

Watching Elena go through the stages of grief was heart breaking. I hadn't cried like that for a while. And of course it hit extra hard because it made me think of Andrew. I didn't ever hit the denial phase, but every now and then I do forget.

Just last week I was thinking about how I hadn't talked to him in a while so I should probably give him a call...then I remembered why it had seemed like a while. I stopped mid motion while that sunk in, and then I felt really dumb.

Back to Elena: I'm just so sad for her (even though it's just a show) because she no longer has any family members left. And that must be the worst feeling in the world. And now Damon turned off her humanity. Good call? I'm very interested to see the direction the show will take the remainder of the season. I just hope that they are able to keep up the twists and turns that I've come to love..and sometimes hate.

Fall TV...It Is So On!

Yes, I am aware that most shows have already returned weeks ago. But the CW pushed their start dates to October, so this is when I get officially excited about the return of my fave shows!

The Vampire Diaries is finally back tonight! This is obviously my favorite show since I've mentioned it more than any other show throughout this blog. This summer I managed to get a super deal on Seasons 1 & 2, held about a two week marathon, the followed it up with season 3 (still saved on my DVR) for probably the third time. This week I rewatched the last two epps to get me emotionally set for the premier. I do have dinner/book club tonight, so I will have to put off watching for a few hours. There are so many new fun things happening this season: Will they be able to make Elena human again? How will they restore Klause's body? Will Elena finally pick Damon? Please tell me Elija will get some camera time!

OMGG! It's the last season. I've been with this show through thick and thin...even when it sucked last season, I still watched holding out for it to return to it's former glory. And the season premier was the the light of hope that I needed. I'm def looking forward to the end game of Chuck & Blair and the reveal of gossip girl!

New Girl has been back on for a few weeks and it just keeps bringing the laughs. This show gets better every epp. I watch most eppisodes twice and end up discovering lines that I missed the first time. Love it!

What shows are you watching this fall?

John Ross [said with a southern draw]

Can we take a quick time out to talk about Dallas?

So the original Dallas ran from 1978-1991. I didn't catch it the first time around...you know, since I was 5 when it ended. But when I heard about the reboot I was super excited!

That's a lie. I was more like "WTF is this? A reboot of a silly Texas show? Great, more Texas stereotypes. Are they kidding me?" No, they weren't kidding me. And? I was over Jesse Metcalfe back when he was playing Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald on Passions. And Josh Henderson? Are you serious? That dbag that dated Ashlee Simpson and Paris Hilton?

I happened across the show when TNT was rerunning the first two epps on a Saturday night. Turns out that it's alright. (I hate when that happens!)

I'm ashamed to say (after a previous statement in this post) that the best part was John Ross...played by none other than Josh Henderson.

He has def gotten better looking with age:

I bet you want to start watching now too.

So John Ross, I'm sorry that I didn't like the actor that played you. I don't care if you are a dbag on the show and in real life because you sure can wear the hell out of your stereotypical Texas clothes. And your Texas accent isn't that bad...even though I don't sound like that and I'm a born and raised Texan. Damon is still number one in my heart, but you are a very close second.

Serious Business

Vampire Diaries is my fave show. It's so serious that I will cut you with my eyes if you interrupt it.

This season has been full of epic moments (as always), such as this:

None of my friends watch it, so back in the day Daniel would watch it with me and he actually liked it. It was so nice to have someone to talk to about all of the crazy things that always happen.

Turns out he also broke up with the show. super lame. So that brought us to this email convo:

Me:
And I wish you still watched TVD because last night was the season finale and it was full of game changers. I was literally balling as if it was real life.

I.Die.just like some characters on the show.
D:
Who died? One of the brothers yet?
I bet he thought I would only answer the specific questions he asked...instead he got this:
OMG. Who didn't die is the real question!
  • In the last ep Elena smashed her head on a table and the ep ended with passed out and bleeding from her nose. This ep she woke up in the hospital with the Dr. telling Jerbear that it's just a concussion.
  • This season we met the whole original family and the original witch (Klaus' mother)
  • The original witch turned Alaric into a vampire (to become an immortal vampire hunter) but tied his life to Elena so that once his job was done, he'd kill her and be dead too.
  • Another twist? If an original is killed then his whole blood line is taken down too. Klaus is responsible for the blood line of Tyler (who became a hybrid this season by Klaus), Caroline, Damon & Stefan, and Bonnie's mother (who she found this season...and then was turned into a vampire).
  • last week they were able to basically drain almost all of Klaus' life and chain him up in a coffin for safe keeping...this week Alaric found him and staked him. Which should mean that every one dies.
  • Love Triangle: Since they think every one's going to die Elena has to decide which brother to say good bye too in person. She calls Damon to tell him she chose Stefan, that although she has feelings for Damon, she never unloved Stefan. She also mentions that maybe things would have been different if they had met first.
  • Only Tyler was effected by Klaus being staked, so it must be that Klaus wasn't really the head of everyone else's blood line.
  • BUT it turns out that bonnie did a body swap spell so Klaus is now residing in Tyler's body so as Tyler he was only pretending to be dying and scared Caroline into leaving him alone to "die" by turning into a werewolf.
  • Ok. SO then Rebecka (thinking Klaus is dead) decides she's going to kill Elena in order to kill Alaric (because his mission is to take out all of the originals, thus cleansing the world of all vampires).
  • Elena and Matt end up in his truck in the same river where her parents died...drowning.
  • Meanwhile Damon is fighting with Alaric giving the original time to flee to protect the blood line (no one knows about the body swap except for Bonnie). While he's laying there all beat up he has a flash back to the first time he met Elena. It was the night of the accident that killed her parents (Elena had been having flash backs from that day throughout the whole last ep). E was waiting for her parents to pick her up from the bonfire when Damon sees her, runs up and says "Katherine?" E looks confused and says no she's Elena Gilbert. Then they flirt, and as her parents pull up Damon compels her because he doesn't want anyone to know he's in town yet.
  • SO this means that she did meet him first, but he erased it from her memory. Because she met Stefan after the accident (which he pulled her from the car).
  • Stefan gets to the accident scene (present day with E & Matt drowning) and E makes him take Matt first (who is unconscious). We slowly watch her drowned.
  • Back to Damon - He's fighting Alaric when he notices A is weakening and ends up dying. So D realizes this means Elena must be dead too.
  • Flash to Jeremy - who comes down the stairs to find Alaric in the house. He's confused and asks him how he got in (Vampire Alaric is evilalaric). A said he wanted to say good bye and will always be with him (oh, btw, Jeremy can see ghosts). That's when Jer realizes E must be dead.
  • Damon runs into the hospital and the nurse stops him. She tells him that she lied to Jeremy about Elena having a concussion...she really had a brain hemorrhage so she "helped her" (BTW, this nurse is of the founding families and she sometimes uses vampire blood on the DL to heal patients).
  • So do you see where I"m going with this?
  • last scene? E laying in the morgue, opens her eyes and gasps for air. She is now in transition.
  • Which also means, she regains all of the memories that were compelled out of her, so this could put things back into Damon's favor!

Does anyone else watch this show and love it as much as I do? If yes, thoughts on the season finale?
If no, then what's wrong with you?

Did you read the books? I didn't because when you turn a book into a series it usually gets way off track, so I would just be setting myself up for more anger issues and "Do you know what I hate about today, other than everything?" moments.

Little Kid Things

ok. If you know me, you know I have some interests that would be more fitting of a 14 year old girl (at least according to Daniel). I have been watching the Disney Channel ever since we had it. When I was in Jr. High Andrew, my younger brother, and I loved the Disney Channel original movies. Zenon and Johnnie Tsunami were two of our favorites. I still enjoy their original movies, although Andrew has outgrown them.

In highschool I loved Lizzie McGuire and Even Stevens. I actually went to see The Lizzie McGuire Movie when it was in theaters and sang the soundtrack with Kayla.

Now I am mourning the end of Hannah Montannah (it grew on me over the years), savoring Selena Gomez's last season on Wizards of Waverly Place, and eagerly awaiting what Sonny with a Chance will do since Demi Lovato is in a rehabish type thing.

Daniel teases me about my selection in TV shows (I also watch some shows on CW and ABC family), but that's not going to stop me from watching.

I still have a love of pop music. Bieber fever, Jo Bros, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, I love them all! Don't get me wrong, I love other bands, but these are some of my faves.

Is it so wrong that I like these things?

Do you like things that shoud be below your maturity level?

Reality TV

I have always wanted my own reality show since Laguna Beach and The Hills.  I am working on it, but as you can see below Daniel is kind of killing that dream. I have been successful in recording without him knowing, so maybe I'll post some "episodes" later.  I would even consider moving back to Canyon if MTV would start shooting The Canyon. Being paid $75,000 per episode for playing me and creating fake drama is my idea of a dream job.
